The Three Bridges - 9th July

Heads up, there are some bridges to ride over

The Three Bridges returns, this year it's slightly later on July 9th but other than that it's the same ride you know and love - 100 miles of easy peasy scenery, with the Humber Bridge being nearly the highest point on the ride, which means these are possibly the two easiest points in the club challenge series. Here's the route on Bikely.

The HQ is in Stamford Bridge village hall (map) and will be open from 8am, the start time is at 9pm and the controls are where they always have been. Well no, that's a slight lie, the first control is Mrs B's cafe, on the other side of the car park from the visitor centre, because Mrs B has a rubber stamp so you'll have fewer receipts to lose. All in all, this is going to be a cracking ride and I can guarantee bright sunny weather with 100% confidence!

If you're going to ride, could you possibly enter online within the next day? You can do that easily enough via the event's audax page and it will make my life easier. If you don't read this within the next day, enter online or by post anyway, or just enter on the day (but bring a pre-filled form with you, and don't too many of you do it - I don't want my hair to start going grey at age 26!) Cost is £3 if you're a BC/CTC member or £5 otherwise.

That's annoying and also confusing, since other riders have successfully entered by Paypal. I've PM'd you, let's see if we can get this sorted.

Not a tcx, but I've put a gpx on Bikely and linked it from the ride's audax page. Hope that helps.

Thanks G, I tried to download the same type of file yesterday for the PG 100k trying to drag and drop into my garmin 705 routes folder although it did appear in the folder it would not load onto the device, any Ideas ?

Or any Ideas from the other garmin users out there please ?.

Did you get a copy of Garmin Mapsource with your Edge? If so, you should be able to open the gpx in there and save it as a tcx.

Otherwise, GPS Babel is a freely downloadable and widely used program that will do that for you.

Your problem may be that you're confusing a gps route with a gps track? This may be teaching granny to suck eggs but a route is a series of instructions at waypoints, a track is a breadcrumb trail that you follow. This is a track, are you sure you're putting it in the right place on the device? GPX is the basic gps format that can usually be read by all devices, a quick search of the internet suggests that 705s should be able to cope with it.

Download the GPX file. Upload it to www.bikehike.co.uk

Then re-download as TCX.

I'd do it but I can't download it from Bikely.

Thanks for this Will, I will have to start studying these different files etc.

I have actually copied Gregs Map and put the route into bikehike and downloaded it now
