Wanted....kids road bike?

Shift that old kit, or those un-wanted presents, or see if anyone else has something you're looking for.

Wanted....kids road bike?

Post by Badger »

Ok.....some advice may be needed.......

My partner is 4 ft 9 so we struggle getting quality bikes that fit. We have mountain bikes but fancy getting into road/racing.

I think a 700c wheel is going to be too big so am really looking for nice kids bike with smaller wheels.......

Can anyone help? Am on a budget so would rather go second hand.

Try these http://www.islabikes.co.uk/bike_pages/luath700lrg.html

Other than that Specialized and Giant do some very compact bikes with sloping top tube that might help.

The Planet X carbon road frame/bikes come in a small which would fit someone of that height. They are decent quality and light too.

Have tried a new bike

Moda Mezzo Junior with 650c wheel...........still a bit tight on standover but the smaller wheel is definately the way forward.

May end up buying the Moda. There are afew other bikes out there but its hard finding then to try.

If anyone has any more input or a bike for sale will be very grateful.

Ribble do some small frames, for 700c, think they do a 45cm which should be fine or even 48cm.

4'9'' - 5'0'' recommended frame size 48.3cm

Quality kit, they also have a bike build option.
