Easy Ride

Post by Rustyman »

Looks like I got the easy ride this weekend. Just 112 mile. Oh I forgot it all started at 6 am with a nice refreshing swim of 2.4 miles. I was'nt lonely, just another 1200 people trying to swim over me.
Great, survived the swim. Now for a long day in the saddle. Things were going well. Due to the club rides the hills seemed quite flat. At least thats what I thought on the first lap. By the 3rd and final lap I can assure they were mountains and there was no cafe stop. Never been so glad to get out of the saddle and go for a run. The first 3 miles were cross country through ankle deep mud. Never mind just another 23 mile of tarmac to run. Run, I was shattered, it was more of a shuffle. Ok it might not have been a 3 o'clock finish like Darren N and the Girls. But finish I did just before 7.30 at night a total of 13 Hrs 27 mins. Never again. But thats what I say when I get drunk but still do it again.
