New rider...

I looked into joining, but as I'm already 1st claim RAF and only due to stay here for another 5 months, it's not really worth joining as most events are done for the year and then I move on.

I am however interested in riding on the Sat/Sun club runs and wouldn't mind doing the chain gang on Tuesdays as it's been a few years since I raced. Can anyone confirm if these events still go ahead and have a large turn out?

Hi Paul
Sure you will be made welcome on either Sat or Sun runs
Sounds like either Sat H group or Sun would suit best
Not sure about the chaingang but there are training rides organized on a Sat
People normally post on the "training" forum and arrange to meet up around 9am
Even though there are only 3 events left you can join Clifton 2nd claim for little money and enter on the line Thurs evenings
There is also another ride organized by Cycleworks which i think goes out on a Thurs - i would ask in the shop for more info if interested

I was going to join 2nd claim to do the last few events, but found out it would be £15 to join + the cost of the event, so that's why I didn't bother. I wouldn't be setting rapid times these days anyway as I've not trained for about 2 years!
