Shame - but given the weather we've had, not a complete surprise.

Still, if everyone who's entered shows up for a Sunday training ride we should have a good group - anyone else game?

Disappointed that the race has been cancelled, but will be out for the training ride instead.

Can BC's North East representative confirm if the 2 Stokesley events in May I was encouraging people to ride - the Stan Robson & John Raisbeck are likely to happen in some guise (other than a ride round Croft?) before I post my unused licence back to sender as I suspect there may be no alternative events that will not already be full?
Is giving way at a T junction so unacceptable? I mean commissaires have been giving "grey area" talks pre race about Marshalls not being able to stop traffic for years. I'm sure last year on the Stokesley circuit it was a pre requisite that riders had to Give Way at the T junction in Hutton Rudby?
This is a real shame. There is a former world champion and olympic medallist in the field for the Neil White riding on local roads and we are reduced to this!

The race up at Hetton has also now been cancelled. This was an alternative to this Weekends cancelled race.
Its becomming rather anoying, and the season has not even started yet!

[Exceeding my authority by some way...] Matthew, care to join us for a consolation few hard laps of a circuit somewhere betwixt York and Malton? PaulM's beloved Bulmer/Terrington springs to mind as a suitable half-way point, or there are less hilly options I'm sure.

The combined might of MaltCliftonWC can surely muster a training ride worthy of Mr White's 25th anniversary...

If you want to do a race without a number on your back you could always do the Taddy reliability on sunday. I'm sure it will involve lots of gutter grovelling, and a bad cough untill the middle of next week.

Sounds about right. Myself and Nick Scull had the misfortune of doing this a few years back. Abiding memory was about 40 of us lined out on the A59 for 5 miles and then we turned right at Green Hammerton! But its not registered on the BC website so I'm not sure on the event insurance situation - perhaps one to avoid?

But yes all welcome for a training ride on Sunday - I'm hoping for a dry day so we can get the light bikes out?

Thanks for the invite.
Im not too sure what to do now though. Ive been meaning to ride out to the coast between Whitby and Skiningrove. I used to live up there and there are some fantastic hills like Skiningrove to Boulby (uphill for about 6miles), Staithes and Ruswarp (1 in 3) then cycle back through Egton!
If some of you fancy this........No racing involved.

Normally fairly sedate until Crayke, then the it blows apart when the non climbers & generally unfit types limp round & grovel back to Tad, normally into a head wind.

The sensible thing to do is peel off @ Easingwold & make your own way back, missing out all the lumpy bits & let the racing boys fight it out in the hills.
