'H' ride, Sat 30th
I understand that Howard D is away next weekend, however, following a discussion with Dave C yesterday it looks as if there will be at least 2 of us planning on doing an 80ish mile 'H'ride on Saturday. Anyone welcome as usual!
Hi, yes I'm away for the next two Saturdays; should be back for the Reliability on Sun 7th.
I think that, IMHO, it would be a good idea to keep the h rides going this year. They fulfil a certain "niche requirement". I intend to lead one on Sat 13th and it's great to read that Dr D's already sorting something out for this weekend.
ps I notice that Bikehike's route database has been removed for, er, legal reasons apparently. Anyone know of an alternative route mapping site that also gives free access to OS 1:50000 mapping and which also permits direct route downloads (in .tcx format) to my beloved Garmin 705?
I'd be lost without my Garmin, no, really, I would!

Hi Howard
Yes, I found that out as I was posting the Reliability link, for that I used BikeRouteToaster (which as you know was the first one you suggested to me) It seems to work and you can download a TCX file. See if this one works.

I think the point is that it makes distributing planned routes to members of a group ride more difficult.lugster77 wrote:you can still do your routes on bikehike just not save them to the site's database can't you? i've done 1 myself today just had to put it straight on the garmin (or you can save it to file on your pc)
Any chance that the Clifton CC site could host files for sharing with members? I'm not an IT pro so don't how easily this could be done without 'virus distribution issues'
Horward - can you drop me an email (arthur@clune.org) and we'll sort it out

I'm up for a longer ride if we get enough bodies. See y'all in the square either way.
