...okay, it's snowing steadily at the moment, and the raintoday.co.uk rain radar shows a band of snow which looks like continuing, intermittently, all evening. Metcheck shows it falling to minus 2c overnight and feeling colder in a brisk northerly, and then kicking off more sleet tomorrow morning, with temperatures not getting above 1c.
Basically, I think we'd be bonkers to go out tomorrow, even on those roads that are more likely to be salted. I was out for three hours or so on Tuesday and even the main roads up around Wetherby had quite a bit of ice on them. Let's cancel tomorrow and assume things will be back to something more rideable for the following weekend. Muzzy, what are your thoughts on the planned Sunday non-stopper?
For those in the "I ticked road racing on my membership form but...." group, I've bunged some thoughts up on the Training forum....

Sorry guys if I'm out on Sunday it will be on my own - I wouldn't want to take a group out in these conditions and the BBC forecast are advertising snow over Yorkshire tomorrow and as the roads don't appear to be getting gritted isn't likely to clear. Better to lose a couple of weeks fitness than a couple of months with your leg in plaster.
Had a ride this afty - Farlington / S/Hutton direction. Clear conditions and a good forecast before setting off. But that snow just seemed to come from nowhere and it was a bit of a struggle coming back!
