Please note: in order to increase daylight riding time, this ride (and all future h group rides over the winter) will start at the square at 09:00.

Good plan Howard.

Propose that the Saturday Intermediate ride should aim to leave promptly at 10am in order to maximise the time out in daylight (rather than waiting til more like 10-30am).

So please be prompt to the square and if you enjoy the chat beforehand, please get there 9-50am or so.......

Don't mind finishing in the dark if we have to, but would rather not set out with the plan being to finish in the dark.

Cheers

Well said Claire, needs to be posted officially on here or mentioned in the square/rides that the rides are going to take off earlier, if possible, to maximise the daylight hours.

See you there about 1015 :)

Hi Howard

Not saying I disagree but feel that this seems a little dictatorial - not all H group regulars may find this convenient. Why not poll riders with a number of options eg 9, 9:30, 10.00 and see what suits most people?

Having a good time here in Majorca btw :)

Aaaaah!

Howard - You're showing admirable leadership. There'd be as many ideal start times as there would be riders.
Your ride is for the longer miles, which you won't get in daylight starting at 10am. There are other rides at 10am for those wanting a later start.

DD - ask yourself what your heroine would have done in this situation. If she was the Iron Lady then Howard could be the Carbon Fibre Bloke...
