Hello. I need someone to help me. I am looking to get back into a bit of road cycling after a 10 year + sabbatical. I used to race quite a bit when I was younger but sadly the years at university and subsequent work commitments have taken their toll on my fitness. Now I have foolishly placed a bet with my wife that I will loose a stone before Christmas.
The problem is that I can’t seem to find any decent cycle routes about York. Obviously not being from the area I have no idea where to start. I know that you only get better by going out in a bunch but I need to bust my guts on my own if I am to get any fitter. Ideally I would like some decent climbs like I got back home in Scotland. Does anyone have any good routes (around the 20-30 mile mark) on bikehike (or similar) that they can share with me?
Here's my favourite flat route round York Derek (I'm going to give you links to my Garmin ride history logs, please feel free to ignore all the ride data and just look at the maps):
