Sports physios

Post by AndrewM »

Can anyone recommend one in York, please?

I developed a nasty pain on the inner right knee yesterday on the way back from Ripon and effectively peddled back on one leg.

I can't put any power through my right knee and getting out of the saddle is impossible.

Don't know what I've done, but it hurts and will need looking at.

Many thanks.

Have you checked your shoe cleats? This happened to me once and when I checked my cleats one had moved causing twisting of my knee when cycling. Was very painful too. Re-aligned the cleats and no more painful knee when out on the bike.

Andy, can I suggest that you speak to Nigel Lawson of Haxby Cycles partner Wendy who is in practice on Haxby Road, she is good & is also a cyclist,

May I recommend Colin Hawxby; he is a very good sports therapist. I had a problem with my knee before I went to the world championships last year. He was recommended to me and he sorted me out in no time, nice man and does not rip you off.
He advertises on the Clifton website under Musclemanagement. I have been told he is an international athlete himself.

I can recommend Col Hawxby as well, having been treated by him myself a number of times. Also a good conversationalist and a very strong tester/cyclist/running so knows what you put your body through. He also knows a good a good Chiropractor from Haxby Chiropracty clinic- Steen Sorenson I think - who is very good at sorting out misaligned bodies if you can overcome the shock of the cracking sounds.
