Sunday Clubrun 27th Oct

In the absence of Rob the thought for Sunday is to head out towards Masham taking in some of the lanes west of Ripon - 135km. Don't forget the clocks go back this weekend so there's an extra hour in bed, but lights would be advisable for later just in case...

Sunday ride 14 April

In sympathy with our parliamentary leaders, Rob is taking his own Easter recess and won’t be appearing for the next couple of weekends. So in our undecided state as what to do next without our leader, this Sunday's ride will be either west (possibly Bolton Abbey) or south (possibly Swanland ...

Re: Sunday Club Run 30th April

That's close! I bet they didn't cycle out to Filey into a block headwind before going for it! Good luck with the Fred this weekend, I'm sure you'll hit your target time.

Sunday Club Run 30th April

In the absence of our intrepid leader Rob this Sunday, the plan is for a trip to Filey as we haven't been to the seaside for quite a while. At a little over 100 miles and some gentle hills it should be a good time to stretch the legs after last week's hill-fest.

See you in the square at 9.00.

2017 Challenge Rides - Curry Evening

Discussion during the cafe stop on Sunday's Club Run turned to this year's Challenge Rides and the need for some creative thinking in proposing potential rides. So the idea is to have a curry and beer at Mumbai Lounge on Thursday 2 February to get the creative, as well as the gastric, juices flowing ...

Weekend Roundup 6/7 August

From Jonny's feedback yesterday,it sounded as if there was a good turn out for a pacy 3 Bridges ride...

There were six of us in the square on Sunday morning ready to do battle with a strong westerly wind on our way out to Wetherby and Beckwithshaw. Jonny and Tim continued on to Killinghall leaving ...

Sunday Clubrun, 7 August

In Rob's absence I was thinking about a run over to How Stean Gorge via Darley and back over Jordan's Moss and the back roads to Ripon and home. Should be about 100 miles give or take with some splendid scenery. Usual time and place!

Re: sunday clubrun 10th April

Sounds like a good plan and hopefully without tempting fate too much weatherise it might be time to break out the summer bike (I know, I know, I shouldn't have said that...)

Weekend Roundup 2nd/3rd April

Seven of us met up on a damp and not very warm Sunday morning - Dr Joe (making a welcome Sunday club run appearance), Jonny, Steen, AndyT, Austin, George (first timer for the Sunday gang) and self. Heading out of York via Wetherby we were wondering if we should be demanding a refund from the Met ...

Sunday Clubrun, 3 April

Not sure whether it fits into Steen's easy ride category, but I was thinking we could head for Bolton Abbey via Fewston Reservoir and back over Greenhow, Penny Pot Lane, Pannal etc. We haven't been that way in a while. A few climbs along the way and about 100 miles give or take...

Re: Weekend roundup 13/14th Feb

Six of us in the square on a bright, but chilly, Sunday morning - Andrew, Austin, Jonny, Pete, Steen and self. After the initial consternation that we were Rob-less (and thus leaderless!) we set off for Filey as planned. Icy patches on Stockton Lane were a foretaste of what lay ahead, so we stuck to ...

Re: Sunday Clubrun

The all day breakfast at the Vinery cafe sounds very appealing; the strong SW wind less so for the return! See you tomorrow.
