That is truley brilliant advice. Thank you.
After all these years of racing, you would have thought I'd have learned about researching the events I intend to do. I really should have thought about that. Why did I not think to talk to any of my colleages at work about the event. Chris Young, having ...

Rob, I was expecting there to be some reason for me to have a bike with me. I knew there would be a considerable distance to carry the bike. The race program stated that 5km was unridable. My completion time of 4hrs 3 is considerably different to my ride time of 2hrs 50 mins. That obviously does not ...

Sorry Paul. It wasn't that I was too focussed more that I was too p'd off with the event. The most stupid event I have ever done. I thought I'd gone to a bike race. The only time I needed the bike was for the road sections between the hills. Pointless.
I did notice Andy Johnston and Colin H (who ...

I can say that Llandegla is good fun, and is not as far away as you think! So take up the offer if you can. However, I wont be going, cos I live on the edge of the peak district now!

I think you'll find a banana skin to clean the chain works well. Simply rub it all over the chain, leave for five mins and wipe with a dry cloth. I can't believe non of you have come across this already - thought is was common knowledge. Obviously the advantages of this system are that it is ...

[to put this on as a sort of Audax in memory of John Hessle]

Did John Hessle get knocked down after riding his bike through the night?

I rode the Yorks 10 champs on Saturday with Andy J.
Recorded 22.33, a time I was happy with, although somewhat frustratingly 10 places took up the next 30 seconds, so I placed 20th.
To illustrate my point, Ali Kaye finished 8th in 21.58, 35 seconds faster than me. Don't get me wrong, Ali did a ...

Woody and I did the Merida marathon in Builth Wells. Very damp weekend. A good route though, apart from there not being one square foot of trail free from sloppy sheep crap (and I made the mistake of running a bottle and no crud catcher) it was quite a good day. I got round in 5 hrs 10 and Woody did ...

I think you were probably having an off day. I spent last friday and saturday up there and found the trails very good indeed. I think the roots etc make it a much more interesting ride, however I do like the slimey, rooted technical stuff. The jumps at the end require a bit of finesse, and can be ...

BC Office 4up Team Time Trial Championship Results 19th June

I was racing for BC office pride last night, riding in a 4 up TT in Cheshire, in one of two rival BC office teams.
I think the following report provides an accurate description of the evenings tense racing.

EVENT REPORT: Oli Lougheed, Team Tall.

Clash of the Titans
(Not the National) Team Time ...

Am racing the NPS round 3 at Grizedale this weekend, but I have been keen to get to Wharncliffe to see the work they have done down there. Phil Dixon (National MTB coach and Wharncliffe local) reckons that is good enough to have a Wold cup xc down there!

I'd be interested to know what you think of ...

Awesome ride by Steve on Saturday. Congratulations!

Cheers to Woody too for his team support role yesterday. He did everything I could have asked for (apart from a massage, which I did ask for, but for some reason was refused!).
