Rob - bit of a long shot but might be worth contacting tubing manufacturer Timet in Birmingham (EuroSales@timet.com). They used to supply tubesets to Raleigh for the R800 road frame and may have a list of approved/recommended UK welders & fabricators who work with Ti tubes.

I'm with Arthur and Michael on this one. And on the way back from work, you can always up the distance by adding in a couple of diversions or loops unless there's anything really urgent to get home for.

Just sit near it during the journey if you're worried about anyone tampering with it - no-one's going to try stealing it as no-one (unless they know what they're up to and are nicking to order - and they're not going to be looking on trains) is going to steal a roadbike as they're so deeply uncool ...
