Rob - bit of a long shot but might be worth contacting tubing manufacturer Timet in Birmingham (EuroSales@timet.com). They used to supply tubesets to Raleigh for the R800 road frame and may have a list of approved/recommended UK welders & fabricators who work with Ti tubes.

Thank you!

Although no longer a club member (yet my login ID still seems to work on here :? ) I'd just like to thank the club for getting me started off in the world of competitive cycling back in early 2000 - and hasn't that time passed quickly? After about a decade - off and on - of racing, my efforts have ...

Hello to all - it's been a good while since I was last on here, surprised to see that my login still worked!!
Was up in York that weekend, thoroughly enjoyed the evening's racing. I see Phil has mentioned that the event will be making a comeback next year, excellent news! Took a few photos on the ...

Thanks for the 'good luck' messages, hope everyone had a good Christmas & New Year, though it's not overly pleasant riding weather just now - the chilly commute to/from work is more than enough!
Been down here for a few months now, though, but have been flying the flag for the club in a handful of ...

Farewell

Just a quick note to thank all in the club for two very enjoyable spells (1999-2003, 2007-2008) as a member; as I have now relocated away from the area and my membership is about to expire, it looks as though I will be joining a local outfit for 2009, and wish the club all the very best for the ...

I'm with Arthur and Michael on this one. And on the way back from work, you can always up the distance by adding in a couple of diversions or loops unless there's anything really urgent to get home for.

Anyhow, doesn't this forum [1] - which is popular, well-subscribed and clearly used an awful lot - tick most of the online 'social networking' boxes already?

Rode with Kevin's group on Saturday, cut off from the others at Gilling and headed back to York as I did not want to do too much as I was attempting my first cyclocross at Huddersfield the next day.

Sunday's cyclecross was an experience with about 80 of us in the Vets and Womens race setting off ...

Flying visit home to see my folks, taking in a West Midlands League 'cross event near Dudley whilst I was there - big field of nearly 50 seniors, out of those that actually finished I was 41st out of 43. Not a great result, though it was hard work and great fun, but only the first off-road event of ...

Good idea. I suggest concentrating on the expensive stuff e.g torque wrenches. I've got a one and now find it invaluable but they are expensive to buy. Ditto wheel truing stand.

Seconded. Some of the smaller stuff (lockring tools, BB tools, crank removers) is either (a) easily affordable or (b ...

I think this has already been done in the world of football - a team somewhere here 'down South' from the lower reaches of the pyramid was effectively taken over by members of an internet-based fans' group.

Just sit near it during the journey if you're worried about anyone tampering with it - no-one's going to try stealing it as no-one (unless they know what they're up to and are nicking to order - and they're not going to be looking on trains) is going to steal a roadbike as they're so deeply uncool ...
