Yes, it's been a while. Allison's first job back in the US involved a lot of air travel, so flying for vacation wasn't an appealing option (now she's at an organization that works on parks and greenways, so she gets to cycle for work!).
Sorry we'll miss you on Sunday. Sounds like you deserve a week ...

Eric & Allison back in York
Hi Cliftonites,
It's been almost 4 years since Allison and I did our last Sunday club run with Clifton before heading out to ride LEJOG and then moving back to the US. This summer, we're finally coming back for a two-week holiday in Yorkshire. We'll be in the UK from 23 June to 6 July, visiting ...

Re: Weekend round-up 27th/28st June
Rob's Dent challenge was indeed quite a ride, including a couple new-to-me roads and dales that were very photo-worthy:

54 cm Surly Long Haul Trucker touring bike
With a new touring machine in the stable, it's time to sell my Surly. It's a nice stable loaded touring bike built around 26" wheels. I'm looking to sell my bike for £750, but I'm open to offers (A stock LHT sells for £1080 without racks, mudguards, or lights and some lower spec parts). Specs and ...

Re: Illegitimate Banks Challenge Ride Sunday March 29th
I had to turn back after only 5 banks due to a busted mudguard and worn-out brake pads (oops). Made it home safe and sound. Hope the rest of the crew enjoyed the other 5 climbs and got some better weather this afternoon.

Bike Friday New World Tourist folding bike ~55 cm
I'm selling my Bike Friday New World Tourist folding touring bike. Bike Friday's are custom-built steel folding bikes, made in Eugene, OR (I'm the second owner, so it's not custom to me). The typical evaluation relative to to Bromptons, that I have found to be accurate, is that a Brompton folds more ...

Shifters have sold. Other parts are still available.
More info on the XT hubs: one is a FH-M752 in 32 hole, the other is a FH-M770 in 36 hole. Both are 135 mm OLD.

DHB leg & knee warmers
I'm selling both leg and knee warmers that don't fit me particularly well. The tall, skinny British fit model just doesn't work for me

Re: Clifton Cycling Club Hill Climb 2014 - Sun 5th Oct
Hi Claire,
I'd like to take a crack at doing the hill climb and would also be happy to help out with the event, so if you can do without me for a few minutes while I'm riding, you can add me to the volunteer list. I'll be riding out to the start from the Square with the 9:30 crowd.

Re: Weekend round-up 27th/28th
I just took a look at the map of our route. By my count, it looks as though the Dirty Club Run involved 18 miles off road for 27% of the route by distance (and probably about 50% by time).

Re: Weekend round-up 27th/28th
Yes, thanks to Rob for a great adventure! It's good to be back out riding with Clifton.
I think all the work re-inflating tires with the mini-pump was harder on my shoulder than the riding. The shoulder isn't significantly more sore than the rest of me is today, so we'll chalk it up to getting back ...

Re: Friendly debate on the way forward for the Intermediate
Here are a few thoughts from a relative newbie to the Inters.
1) It does make sense for the length of the ride to fluctuate seasonally as daylight/weather make longer rides possible. I think Karl does raise a good point that the distances have ramped up dramatically this spring, which is fine for ...
