How not to bunny hop by Jens Voigt

Post by Tullio »

When I first saw this at full speed I thought something had failed on his bike (tyre, stem, steerer) but this clip in slo mo shows how he fell.

It seems to me, doing 70mph, he tried to bunny hop a rough transition in the tarmac but simply got it all wrong, leaned forward, loaded the front tyre as it hit the white line which, even in the dry, was enough to flip him off.

Food for thought next time we're doing this on gravel.

OUCH!

I see what you mean, but whats he doing with his left hand? looks like he can't decide which bit of bar to grab then... too late oversteers with the right. SPLAT!
