After the success of "Paris-Dakar by Bike", Bike-Dreams organises two new
bike tours in 2008 : “The Andes Trail” and "La Bella Italia".
The facts of "The Andes Trail" in a nutshell :
- 11.000 fascinating kilometers along, through and over the longest
mountain range in the world
- 5 countries : Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile
- 4 months, 106 stages, 22 rest days
- Start : August 9th, 2008
- Finish : December 14th, 2008
- Location of the start : Equator, close to Quito in Ecuador (
Mitad-del-Mundo )
- Location of the Finish : Ushuaia in Argentina, nicknamed the
"End-of-the-World"
( Fin-del-Mundo )
- Slogan : From the Middle to the End-of the-World.
- Expedition / Race
The facts of "La Bella Italia" in a nutshell :
- 3.000 kilometers through one of the most beautiful countries in the world
- 33 days, 6 rest days in Etna, Pompei, Rome (2), Florence and Venice
- Start : May 11th, 2008
- Finish : June 12th, 2008
- Location of the start : Palermo, Sicily ( in the same weekend as the Giro
d'Italia )
- Location of the finish : Madonna del Ghissalo; the pelgrims site for
every cyclist
- 4 mountain time trials for competitive riders
- The route includes the Dolomites, Passo di Stelvio, Etna, Vesuvius
