Well, the weather relented and left us with a very pleasant evening with a gentle breeze for our final TT of the summer session (although the hill climb still lingers on the horizon for a 'grand finale'

). Some good times and plenty of improvements over earlier runs of the course - well done to all who turned out!

Awww, I'll miss the SPOCO series

What am I meant to do with my Thursday evenings now?
If you enjoyed the club series, why not step up and try racing on the open circuit against riders from all over the region? Here are some local events that are coming up in the next few weeks.
10 miles
August 13th V718 (near Hull) Preference to Yorkshire clubs This is a good opportunity to ride the fastest course in the country - but enter quick: it closes on Tuesday!
August 20th T102/1 (near Yarm) On a stretch of the A19. This one is quite easy to get to from York: just catch the train to Yarm.
August 28th V718 (for riders with PBs slower than 22:00) Another chance to get a ride on this super-fast course without needing a super-fast qualifying time.
25 miles
6th August T252.3 This is the same stretch of road as the 10 I just mentioned, and also starts from near Yarm. Entries close tomorrow, so be quick!
14th August T254 This one's on the A1 service road near Thirsk, so there shouldn't be many cars - good if you're allergic to sharing the road
50 miles
28th August T502 Starts at Yarm again, goes down to Topcliffe and back. I'll be riding this one - enter and we can form a team!
This list isn't exhaustive: you can find more events at
CTT

Well done everyone. Another great series put to bed without incident. Once I get the paperwork sorted & sent of to regional CTT I'll fix up a end of season meeting to discuss what went well, what didn't and what we can do to improve the series for next year, new courses etc.
Just the hill climb to do now!
Thanks to Greg for pointing out other open events. I may have a go myself.
Once again many thanks to all the helpers over the entire season who have made a great contribution and ensured the series has gone off successfully and without incident. Staying safe is the most important thing.
Kind regards David

For info I've created a Strava Seggie to reflect the revised course.

Cheers to all the organisers and martials. Great to meet new folk, hope I can be a more regular name on the start sheet next year.
I'll look in to some opens for next month too, cheers for the info.
