What a great turnout, 22 riders, a full complement of marshalls and the sunshine turned up too.
Well done to all who competed in the first Stittenham 6 miler, feedback on the night suggests it was a tough but enjoyable course.

I really liked that course. I generally like the long ones best but it's good to mix it up with a short hard blast once in a while
It had some hills but nothing silly, so was all doable on a TT bike. Surfaces were good, there was a nice fast downhill bit and the loop was pleasingly simple. Well done to Dave on suggesting it.
On the uphill finish, I wondered if a fan would jump out and push me off, so I'd have to run?
Anyway, thanks to Matt and the marshals, and I'll see you all for some Bulmer madness next week.

Well done everyone. Thx to organiser n all helpers. Great course which was shown by the great turn out. I think the longer ones are putting people off esp the younger riders who were in abundance last night.
Food for thought maybe ?

I'm back home now after a fortnights cycling, sailing and fell walking in the Lakes with no interweb, ( wonderful!). Great to see the 'new' circuit seems to have gone down well. What a fantastic turnout. Well done everyone. Given that it is a new course all feedback would be much appreciated so we can 'nip and tuck' to improve for next time. See you all next week.
Kind regards David

For what it's worth, I don't think you could do too much to improve this as a short sporting course. I think the short distance is good for a change and there's no lack of challenge, particularly that last ramp up to the line when I for one had had about enough.
The only thing is the T-junction where you take the left onto to the Bulmer road before the finish - it's at the bottom of a steep little descent and the visibility to the right is quite poor so you have to grind almost to a halt before making the turn. Not much to be done about it and it's not as dicy as some parts of, say, the Ganthorpe course, but maybe there could be a warning sign or something?

Cheers Greg, useful feedback. That T junction was always going to be the part of the course with the greatest risk but with adequate signing and appropriate rider briefing and marshalling we can mitigate the risk. Did we get the Tattersall's times sorted?
Kind regards David

Hi everyone involved with this event, I have just returned from holiday and seen the comment about the Tattersfields, I don't have the signing on sheet so I am unable to put the correct names to numbers, but I can confirm that my records show number 14 arrived at the finish line in minute 30 and I recorded the time as 30.44 giving an actual time of 16.44, number 17 arrived during minute 34 with a recorded time of 34.28 so the actual time was 17.28. I hope that this helps to clarify the actual timings, which can then be checked against the names on the signing on sheet by who ever is now in possession of this sheet. Bernard
PS see you again on Thursday night.

Sorry I should have refered to number 18 arriving in minute 34 with a recorded time of 34.21 so the actual time would have been 16.28, Bernard

It must be the holiday head, I should of course have been refering to numbers 9 & 14; so to complete the picture correctly, number 9 recorded a time of arrival at the finish of 26. 32, so the actual time should have been 17.32.
So please ignore any reference to riders 17 & 18. Bernard
