Hopefully the Saturday crew will design a few rides as well and Bernard will put it all together into a series. In the meantime, here's our set piece challenge rides to write in your diary:

20th March - Thixendale Spirograph - 150km - 1point
Also known as the Deja-Vu ride, the aim is to climb all 6 main tarmac climbs out of Thixendale..... without completing a U-turn.

24th April - Illigitimate Banks - 160km - 2 points
All the killer-climbs on the Moors escarpment from Boltby Bank to Hambleton Bank, including many you didn't know existed.

15thMay - Robin Hoods Bay - 200km - 3 points
Ride out and back across the moors, with a scenic refuel at the seaside...

5th June - Lincoln - 270km - 3points
A (very) long flat one. Out via the Humber Bridge and the Lincolnshire Wolds. Back along the banks of the Trent.

26th June - Oomloop Het West Yorkshire - 230km - 3 points
A full circuit Leeds and Bradford, taking in many cobbled climbs around Halifax.

17th July - Yorkshire Alps - 265 - 4 points
Ride to beyond Richmond. Then The Stang, Tan Hill, Buttertubs, Fleets Moss, Fan Carl..... one to tell the grandkids about.

21st Aug - Tan Hill - 225km - 3 points
The Clifton Classic. Should be on everyone's palmares...

11th Sept - The Dirty Clubrun - 100km - 1point
A clubrun bagging as many tracks and bridleways as possible. Route tbc.

25th Sept - Circuit of the Moors - 210km - 2 points
Clockwise this year.

8th/9th Oct - Hostel Weekend - North Pennines 340km - 4 points
Details to confirm

I'd like to think the Saturday types can add to the list. The principle is to keep the start point local (ie ride to the start), and not to necessitate extortionate entry fees 6 months in advance. Hope the above gives some inspiration and something to build towards.

See you Sunday for something more sensible...
