Inters/A-Ride for Sat, Feb. 20

Saturday is supposed to be mild (+9), very grey with a bit of SW wind and potential for moisture. However, daylight is getting longer and FW crew need to get some hills in the legs, so let's hike up to the moors with a stop in Rosedale.
Given the growing turnout and varying degrees of fitness, if we have a large group, I'll suggest a split as long as we have a volunteer to lead a 2nd group.
~140Km / 85 miles square to square, plus a few lumpy bits
As always for this time of year, fenders and lights recommended

Nice route Tony, although I notice it doesn't include either of the major climbs in the area: namely Blakey Bank and Rosedale Chimney Bank. Might I suggest we head up Farndale (beautiful ride) and take in Blakey Bank before dropping down into Rosedale, then we can take a view on whether we want to tackle the Chimney Bank following our cafe stop. We can see how people feel about it when we meet in the square no doubt.

Yeah, I was worried about the distance and that we might have a mutiny if the route was deemed too difficult for this time of year.
So Mr. KOM, here's an amended route that takes in Blakey Bank. We can decide at the square which route we take, or if we split the group, perhaps one group takes the Blakey Bank route and the other avoids it, then meeting at the Rosedale cafe.

Should be out. I'll be going via Blakey ridge, have done blakey bank a few times in the past but never this time of year, so for anyone who decides to join me thats fine or i might be billy no mates we'll see on the day. Let the Fw crew get their hill training in

. the mileage i do is enough i think. See you tomorrow

Good route choice Tony . Sorry didn't make it all the way round but I'm at least getting further each week
Don't worry about making the routes reasonably challenging - if you want to accomplish longer hillier rides in summer you do need to put the effort in now. There's the K ride for those who want something a little easier.
