Inters/A-Ride for Sat, Dec. 19th

We have a doozy of a forecast for Saturday; the usual S/SW wind, but +15C and mostly dry (only 30% chance of getting wet), so basically warm, blustery and dry = get your shorts on :D

Many of the regulars are planning to attend the 14:00 Christmas lunch at the Cross Keys (Tadcaster Rd), so we only have time for a short loop to work up an appetite.

Graham suggested a trip to Millington, and so rather than the usual route through Howsham and Leavening, I dredged up this route that I last completed in February, and adapted it to finish at the pub.

As always for this time of year, fenders and lights recommended :)

Given the festivities, why not also dress for the party? Dig out your best Santa/Elf/Rudolph/Other suit and spread some Christmas cheer :D

87Km / ~55 miles square to pub feast. View and download the route at RidewithGPS or click the map.

Should have us back in York in good time. Also, it's my old stomping ground, so should your Garmin misbehave again, I can navigate! See you Saturday. :D

I definitely plan to be there this week :D . Frankly I bottled out last Sunday, the roads just looked too iffy at the time I would have had to set off. Temperature wAs just too low. Anyway enough of my excuses see you Saturday. :D

Great stuff, guys!

Yeah, I figure we'll have time for a small cappuccino and a piece of cake in Millington, if we want, and still get back in time.

The Garmin is (hopefully) fixed, but James' knowledge of the local roads never ceases to amaze me. I'm not aware that he'd ridden last Sunday's route before, yet he was able to figure it out, turn for turn, retracing the exact route I did only once before with Rich

BTW, is there any dress etiquette for the lunch, or do we just pile in wearing our stinky/muddy bike clothes? Curious if people are going home to change, or having fresh clothes pre-delivered to the pub etc.
