Splendid Hill Climb today - great riding by all the brave Entrants - writeup on other posting.

And enjoyed a classic 'K' ride on Saturday, with the great man, K himself and also the company of Craig, MarkB, JohnC to Driffield.
A larger group left the Square, with Julia, Bernard & Neil opting for Sledmere cafe, we split just before Settrington. And then just before the Cowlam lane, Nick, Chris & MarkF turned right to join the Sledmere crew. Hope you all enjoyed your ride home.

Fast riding into Driffield, Kevin startling us all with his turns of speed and leading us out on the road...........JohnC (recovering from a dose of Shingles) still can't resist jumping on the leadout wheels and took the sprint honours! Great fun! :D

Suitably refuelled, we then took the flatter & 'draggier' (no English teachers reading, I hope!) route back over the Wold's escarpment via Tibthorpe and Millington, into York.
Thanks for the good company and sensible group riding.

Well I managed to summon the energy to do both a Saturday ride and the hill climb  however I did pay for the efforts on Saturdays ride around cockayne , well that's my excuse anyway  . It was expected. Doubly dissapointed to have Greg pass me near the top especially when for a while I thought I would be the last off, but seriously well done to everyone, some very impressive times.

As for Saturday there were 12 inters, Pete S left us at Helmsley but a really good ride around cockayne in benign but cold conditions. We went out through farlington, hovingham, nunnington and retuned via sproxton, ampleforth, coxwold Crayke , around 80 lumpy miles in watery sunshine in the end.

Not sure wether I'll be out this weekend but will post later in week, any suggestions of destination would be welcome, any preferences for example.

I was looking through some rides I've done at this time of year and Thorpe perrow came to mind, it's near masham, it's also an arboretum so any tree lovers out there looking for some Autumn colour :D
