Hello There!
Annual reminder for the Club Hill Climb next Sunday:

When: Sunday 4th October
Start: Bishop Wilton at 11am.
Entry: On the Line as for Club SPOCO Events. £3 Senior; Junior/Concessions £1
(You must be a paid up member of Clifton CC or a CTT-affiliated Club to ride - you may be asked to show proof of this - you can join on the day: £20 Senior; £5 Under 18 / Concessions)

The climb is the minor road which goes up from the village X-roads to join the A166. Finish just prior to the junction.
Max gradient 20%, distance 1.2 Km
(time of ride is somewhere between 5m30s & 10mins  )

There are several Club trophies up for grabs, including separate category for riding MTB, but mainly if you feel like having a go, having a blast, then come along....

Whether you are up for Racing or just want to test your fitness out after a Summer of Club rides, you’ll be made very welcome. Race bike, touring bike, MTB, tandem…………come along.

Remember Junior is Under 18yrs and minimum age for CTT-organised events is 12yrs (with signed Parental Consent Forms).

Depart 09-30 from the Square for those riding out together or meet there at Bishop Wilton village cross roads (for safety & visibility, please do not park at the start or on the course - find a verge off the road of the hill climb - Ta)

See you there
Claire & Robert

Our Club Hill Climb is usually a small (but select!) field and so I hope should be no issue for anyone to enter, but worth acknowledging the Club Event Entry etiquette:
1. Max number of riders we're allowed for CTT-organised Club Events is 40.
2. Clifton members priority sign on. This priority will last until 10-40am. Can join on the day
3. Any rider who is a member of a CTT Club is welcome to ride and at 10-40am entry opens to all, up to a max of 40 riders

Ah yes, I can do sign on & Timekeeping with Siobhan @ bottom of climb.
Thanks to Robert & Steen who have volunteered to timekeep and number spot up at the top.

I could do with a couple more helpers please:
- 1 Pusher Off
- 1 Marshall up at the top of the climb
- & if we have the luxury of an additional, 1 Marshall partway up the climb, where a village minor road joins the climb

Let me know if you can help.
Cheers
Claire

Good luck to everyone at the Hill Climb and well done Claire for organising it. Unfortunately Suzie and I will have to give it a miss as we have just found out our long awaited new tandem is ready for collection this weekend so we will be over Gargrave way. Have a great one! :D

Kind regards David

Result from Club Hill Climb today. ‘Chapeau’ to all riders. I enjoyed watching you all and a friendly atmosphere contributed to a very congenial morning. Thankyou!

As always we acknowledge the support crew, without whom these Club events would not take place: Craig; AndrewL; Steen; MarkB; Robert; Siobhan & Emily

Congratulations to Ash, a great ride, 30s faster than his ride last year, much improved and leading the way in a small, but select field.
Special mention to Family Coning who provided 4 of the riders in the field! I think it is ‘Uncle’ Coning who took the V40 prize and 'younger' Leo Coning is to be applauded for his ascent and 1st Under 14.

At the other end of the age spectrum, once again Arny, we are astounded by your ever-presence and continued posting of very respectable times, at a sporting event some of us feel (but you refuse to acknowledge!) is a ‘younger person’s game’! 

Thanks to the Spectators, hope you all enjoyed the sunny & warm morning. Here’s to the Autumn colours ahead and hope to see having fun out on the road.

Position Name Time Age
1 Ash Coning 6m 02s 151st Junior & 1st Overall

Thanks again Claire and all the helpers for putting thus on for just 16 of us. Well done to all especially Ash for a fantastic ride, Peter who I think came spinning past me as I was going for it out of the saddle and James who took the V50 out of a select group if two!
