Weekend Roundup 13th/14th

Sunday Clubrun Xmas Dinner.
Pretty good conditions for a long ride. Above freezing, some damp stretches and the odd glimpse of sun. The headwind return didn't really come to much. Nice and quiet through Dalby and Langdale End. Bracing ride around Marine Drive, surfers out as usual. Roast dinner in the Golden Grid. Then back the Raincliffe Woods, then lights on for Wykeham, Sherburn, West Lutton, Langton and home.
Mentions in dispatches: Muzzy rode on the front all the way home into the wind, while the rest of us took turns to ride next to him. Helen took up serious cycling this year and was sent to us by Kevin to further her education. She's a tough cooky that one. Tom is a Scarborough A to Z....
The night ride stretch got us talking about one group riding skill though. When you're on the front and look over your shoulder, all you see is bright lights. You can't tell whether everyone's there. Makes it doubly important to shout up if someone slips off the back for whatever reason.
And boy was there some bright lights yesterday! IanH commented that they were keeping his back warm while he was on the front.
