Hello all, I did a couple of 'test' rides last year, and was welcomed by all those on the rides. What a great group of people.
I have finally joined the club and hoping to get out on the Saturday training rides, with an aim of doing my first race next year.
Sorry, my name is Paul Agutter. I live in Kexby, am 39 next year, married and have two young children. I will use this as my excuse for not joining the club sooner!
Whilst I have ridden a road bike for over 20 years, it was a revelation, whilst out on the couple of runs I did with Clifton, to see how riding in a group can transform your training riding! Invariably I have always ridden solo.
I look forward to meeting you all over the coming months

Welcome to the club. Introduce yourself to Cam Brooks, who's Racing Secretary and who fronts up the Saturday training rides, and he'll do his best to ensure you get out with a suitable group. 39 puts you at the younger end of the club's regular race squad...

Hi Paul,
Can't believe this. I was just browsing the Clifton web when I saw your message.
I was the the driver of the Honda Civic that was involved in the car accident at Grimston
roundabout yesterday and you were a witness who saw it all.
I've left a message on your phone for you to call me so I hope you will.
I've been a member of Clifton for over 20 years and regularly ride with them on the
Saturday runs, so I hope to see you there in the near future.
Arny

Hi Paul....Look forward to seeing you on the training rides in the future. This ride is aimed at people who are planning to race next season so could well be the the ride for you! We've been meeting at 9.00 at Exhibition Square on Saturday mornings for a 3 hour ride. It's not the only way of preparing for a racing season though as I'm sure others will testify. There are people who have raced (and continue to race) who do the other organised rides the club offers. At this time of year we're concentrating on getting the steady miles and tend to stick to one of four established routes. We look to pick up the pace as the season approaches in Feb/March.

Thank you all for the response, and I shall look to introduce myself when I get out in the new year. Hopefully you can let me know how I get into racing.
Arny, what a coincidence that is, and I hope you have recovered from the accident. It will be good to catch up in the new year.
I know the couple of rides I did with Clifton last year set out a little earlier than 9, but assume the 9am ride is quicker for those that race.
Cam, hopefully you will be able to put me in the right group.
Thanks
Paul
