12 Inters riders this week: Dave C, Ian H, Paul, Kevin W, Graham, Stu, Simon, Karl, Craig, Scott, Self and a chap whose name escapes me (apologies).
It was a really lovely day but very hot as we headed out over Terrington bank to Nunnington, then Surprise View and up Farndale. We lost Kev and Graham around here somewhere ( did you head for Hutton-le-hole?).
Blakey Bank was tough in the heat and we paused for quite a while to regroup before dropping into Castleton for lunch.
After a leisurely lunch we headed on and took a new - to everyone - route up through Street and onto the moors before crossing the head of Glaisdale and over to Rosedale.
Here we stopped for water ( and ice creams :-) ) before discussing the Chimney. The consensus was that the heat had drained both our legs and our resolve so we came home via Appleton, Great Barugh, Amotherby and thence to Foston and York.
I don't know about everyone else but despite drinking over 4 litres I was pretty dehydrated and it seemed that I crawled the last few miles home.
Thanks to all for a fun day out!

Did A ride as detailed by Dr Dave. Great day over the moors with a good group. The A riders certainly made an impression on one Tees side cyclist.

Also congrats to Bob Taylor for his iron man result, great achievement.

Cheers

Dave

Seven of us were out for the Club Run on Sunday AndyG AndyM JohnS MarkD Ed Mike and Myself.
The Mike hear was out for the first time with the club but was certainly not new to cycling. Welcome back anytime.

Destination Danby Out via Castle Howard where I nearly picked up a free water bottle at a Triathalon feed station. AndyM returned home just before Hutton le Hole. Either saving himself for grater things or having put some miles in the week before. Not sure which but it has to be one or the other. Down Rosedale Chimney then up to the ridge to sweep down Fryup Dale. This must be the best bit of ridding we do on club runs. We tried out the Cafe at Denby which worked out fine we made it to the counter before the mid day rush. Quick service and a better cup of coffee than Castleton offers but not a vast selection of food to choose from. Though the cake selection looked fantastic with large portions for some.
Our return took us back onto the ridge via Westerdale then right for Fadmoor and Welburn where MarkD made for home as he said he had a couple of beers that desperately needed taking out of the fridge.
Running out of fluids we managed to replace our stocks near Slingsby where a farmer had abandoned selling free range eggs and organic veg from a cart for sugar filled drinks sweets and bottled water with an honesty box. Worth keeping that one in the memory for the future. He had even got a cool cabinet for the drinks.
We crossed the A64 and came back via Bossall and Sand Hutton. No problems with the navigation thanks to AndyG. Strong ridding by all but hero of the day was JohnS. Who not only had ridden out from Green Hammerton or some other backwater and I assume had to ride back. He was also out on the training ride on Saturday. So he is either very strong or they should pick up the pace on Saturday mornings. We clocked up 98 miles from the center of York.

Great day out better get yourself to Fryup Dale before they start Fracking.

I think we are back to normal service next week
