Le Tour dans le Cliftonite!

Hi everyone
I thought it was time for a quick note about Le Cliftonite. This year will obviously be a bumper commemorative edition of Le Tour in Yorkshire. It will probably be, for many of us, a once in a lifetime edition. We will definitely need the entire Clifton membership to put the club's magazine at the front of your mind when you experience this year's event. We will need written content and photos of any kind. Examples are as follows:
- Sunday's Etape Du Yorkshire (some photos with a write up would be great!)
- Ros L's HMP & YOI Wetherby fund raising challenge - please try to support this.
- Mike H's huge fund raising task on the 1st stage of the TdF - again, Mike would love your support.
- Rob's Le Tour avec Clifton club run on 29th June.
- Anyone doing any other charity events or individual rides along any part of the Tour stage routes.
- In particular, we will want photos and write ups from your experiences of watching the Tour from the side of the road. There will be a special section for this, please remember to take some photos - family shots would be fantastic, or photos of you spending 24 hours drinking beer on the road verge while waiting for the Tour caravan to come through! We would also appreciate any photos of the pros from any location around the Yorkshire stages. The money shot will be someone wearing a Clifton Jersey next to a pro rider or the peloton - the front cover is up for grabs!
All write ups and photos will be gratefully received. They will make for a great showcase mag at the end of the year. All content should be sent to cliftonite@cliftoncc.org, the earlier the better (that way it will be fresh in your minds when you go to write it up!)
Finally, for anyone riding the Tour routes as an individual or in a group, please ride safely. Apparently there has already been some horrific accidents on Dales roads, one in particular has already resulted in life-changing debilitating injuries. I'm not at all surprised at this given what I saw when driving along the busy A59 & A65 a couple of weeks ago. Let's make sure we remember the Tour for all the right reasons.
As an aside, it's not only Tour-related articles we will need. As usual, any content from your cycling experiences in 2014, competitive or social, will be gratefully received.
Have a great Tour experience, we can't wait to hear about it!
