Mavic Freehub repair kit for worn out freehubs

Post by fatsprinter »

Hi Guys

Just a quick bit of useful information for anyone riding Mavic. My freehub on my Ksyriums became worn out and would make a horrible sound and sometimes lock on descents. Sent it away to Mavic and they said, yeah, it is worn, only thing to do is a new hub!!!

After much despair thinking my otherwise good condition ksyriums were dead (brake surface fine, don't use them much), I found a product on ebay by the hubdoctor which replaces the nylon bushing in the freewheel with a bearing. I have fitted it and can say it works perfectly, if not better than new. So instead of trashing my ksyriums, they are like new again. Easy to fit if you have a modicum of mechanical ability. Link below: Hope it may help someone else.
