Hi all,
a bit of a change to the flat loop last week.

This week we're off to the moors for a revisit of Wass Bank. It's a slightly longer route this time: about 57 miles. Planning to be back between 12.00 to 12.30.

Haxby- Pottery Lane- Sutton otF- Huby- Crayke- Coxwold- Wass Bank- Ampleforth (via Beacon Bank, downhill)- Yearsley- Terrington- Ganthorpe- Bulmer- Stittenham- Flaxton- Strensall- Haxby

These rides are currently fairly quick-paced and often not so large that they need splitting before departing (as they were at the height of summer).

So if you are interested in a steadier pace please post here, or get in touch. It would be great to keep this ride running with two different speed groups, but it needs numbers. So let me know, or vote with your wheels and just turn up.

Hi Steve, i'm hoping to get out for the first time this weekend with CC, and seen this proposed ride.

I did a similar 50 mile solo ride up Wass bank and back and averaged just over 16mph.

Would this pace be a bit on the slower side for this group?? Am i more suited for the 10am rides?

Cheers

Hi Sam. Thanks for getting in touch.
Yes, I'd recommend starting off with a 10.00 o'clock ride.
I'm not sure what pace the easy riders group go at the moment, but I'm sure if you turn up and talk to Dave or Kevin, they'll be able to advise on an appropriate group to start with.

You should then have a good idea of what you are comfortable with and whether you fancy something more challenging.

Cheers,
Steve.

16 mph solo is pretty decent so you'd likely be fine at 8.45 IMO
