Just a proposal to see who says yeh and who says no. How about the training route. Buttercrambe..malton..terrington.yes it's quite lumpy but no settrington/wass/leavening climbs.if the pace is kept sensible then I'm sure this could be a nice "group" route.

Nice route Paul.
Here's the details:
Stockton otF- Upper Helmsley- Buttercrambe- Malton- Coneysthorpe- Terrington- Sheriff Hutton- Farlington- Strensall (via Pottery Lane)- Haxby
50 Miles
In response to the issues raised in the discussion about the pace of this ride, Allan has offered to guide a steady group, leaving a couple of minutes after the other riders:
max speed on the flat of 20mph and an aim to average somewhere between 16 and 18mph for the ride

Does anyone have a rough rolling speed (for the flat bits) and a rough overall average on this lumpy route for the quicker group? Just trying to work out which group i should go with? Although i suppose i could always set off with the first group and fall back into the second if i run out of steam.

Thanks Allan for leading the ride on Saturday. I Struggled on the hills but just unfit at the moment so need a few more rides to improve this. Hope to be out next Saturday!
