A big thank you to Rob, Nigel, Andrew,Steen and Ian for all the help and support they gave me after my crash coming downhill from Tan Hill during what was a really good Sunday challenge ride.
The news of my injury is not good I'm afraid as I'm laid up in hospital with a broken vertebrae in my lower back and can look forward to wearing a body brace for up to the next 3 months then it will hopefully be the road back to fitness, just thankful I can still walk.

Really sorry to hear that it's turned out to be bad news. I thought it was a bit of an extreme way of avoiding the climb out of Reeth!!! I was hoping it may have been a muscular injury. I remember fracturing a lower vertebrae 3 years or so ago when I went over the bars and can only empathise with the pain you are now feeling. I was lucky that I avoided the corset, but I'm sure it will do wonders for your figure! All I can say is that you will recover and hope you'll be back on the bike before too long.

Ian if this is a ploy to get the points without completing the ride I will be very disappointed in you. Seriously f--k sake so sorry that it has turned out that bad. Bike looked ok though. The pain must have been, well the worst. We should never have made you touch your toes afterwords.
I will come and bother you at sometime I am sure Mr Cook will keep us informed as to your progress.
Please everyone look at Robs comments on this ride - Uphill downhill on the flat STICK TOGETHER. Three of us rode past Ian and he was 3m away just because we did not see him come off the road. Bad as this has turned out it could have been ....
All the very best and good luck to your wife Ian. Poor woman with you around the house this summer.
