Anyone seen any excellent deals on winter tyres - Vittoria Rubinos have been on the bike for a year and a half. They look ok but I'm slipping all over now. Not that fussy that what they are - but the Vittorias have lasted well.

Continental Gatorskins from Wiggle at £23.07 and if you speak to York Cycleworks they may match that price.

Odd - been a Schwalbe man since I was knee-high to a giraffe, but just this autumn I picked up some cheap Rubino II (semi-slick) 25mm for my fixed bike. Since weather turned cold and damp, my back wheel has been sliding all over on corners; I'm glad I've still got a Schwalbe Lugano on the front. That's a slick, and it seems much grippier than the Rubino and is pretty tough as well.
Usually some offers on this stuff over on the Planet-X website.
Don't think I'll be using Rubino again. Seem tough, but the wet grip on mine is shocking.

Luganos for me also. I've tried a few winter tyres but keep coming back to these. Good value, decent grip and reasonably hard wearing. I've stuck a Panaracer self adhesive puncture strip just in the rear which is a bit of overkill but I do a bit of night riding through the week and really dont want to be mending punctures in the dark!
