Weekend roundup - 5/6/7 May

Not sure where to file my report as the PP has its own roundup and the racing snakes have their own on their column.... So, start a new one.
Family "do" in South Manchester on Sunday kept me away from the clubrun. But, thought I'd get some miles in by riding across. Have done it a few times before - its an OK ride, though not in my top ten.. On the plus side Holme Moss is a glorious challenge and a stunning view. Its good to ride some new roads. But there are some busy roads through Pontefract and on down to Denbydale, then the last 15 miles through Manchester. Navigating is a challenge, and 100miles is a long way on your own - I nearly fell out with myself at one point.
I suppose the final good things about this ride would be being treated like a hero on arrival (and getting well fed!), and Manchester roads make me feel lucky to live in York. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind riding in a bit of traffic; there's a skill to it and you can be proud of your road-craft, its just that it goes on and on and on....
Anyway, Wiggy 300 on Saturday, then Runswick Bay the following week. Should be quite a month.
