Accident at the foot of Leavening Bank

Post by catlike »

Some of you may have witnessed the aftermath of the accident at the foot of Leavening bank on Sunday afternoon.

My friend Joe, skidded on lose gravel as he entered the village and collided high speed with a parked car.

The good news is that he escaped any serious injury.

A BIG thanks to the people of Leavening, who couldn't have provided more help. They even swept the road to prevent a repeat of the accident. Also many thanks to York ambulance and air ambulance who attended the scene.

So a cautionary note to us all: The recent wet weather has put a lot of gravel onto the roads, so take care out there!

Sorry to hear this - although glad no nasty injury.

The recent rain has resulted in gravel on the roads in a lot of places. It's one of those things that you need to bear in mind after rain - one more 'tip' that experience helps with.
