Warming up on Turbo Trainers etiquette

Post by 214beck »

Hi

Been out of the scene for a while and riding first time trial in 20 years in two weeks.
Been looking at a few uploaded start sheets and turbo trainer/not to be used in built up areas has been mentioned.
Basically asking whats the crack with them, do people use them, if so where etc. Just like to know if I have to park in middle of nowhere to use them.
If somebody could just let me know what they have seen at time trials
recently.

Regards

When I can, I always warm up on a Turbo Trainer before a TT. It also depends on where the start is from the HQ. You could get a good enough warm up riding to the start!
Modern Turbos are quiet though, but my mate still uses his air resistant turbo with knackered bearings and it doesn't arf make a racket!
So, you can use a quiet turbo in built up areas.
