Nobody's started one yet, so I'll oblige!

Saturday saw me pin the last ever numbers onto my old jersey, for the Huddersfield Star Wheelers hillclimb at Jackson Bridge. Someone took a video, it's here and the commentary at 4.00 is quite amusing: "This guy's from Clifton, he'll be a quickie." That's high praise for a flatland club! I had to shatter his confidences in my abilities, coming a middling 26/45 with 5m56s and feeling I could have pushed a little harder. Our own Nathan Veall was also riding and came in four seconds slower than me, which pleased me as he beat my up the Bishop Wilton climb last week Maybe someone fast needs to go back there next year to restore the filmer's confidence in Clifton?

Sunday was Gerry's autumn Brevet, which was a pleasure as ever. I do like the Wigginton audaxes that bookend the season. The new colours were out in force and looked very smart, so I'm off to Cycleworks to buy some this afternoon. I got a few photos on Sunday, They're here.

Five for the advertised club ride - a combination of youth, ability and experience. well that's Heather described, not so sure about the four old blokes she was stuck with - yours truly, Rob O, Richard D & Tony G! Cockayne never disappoints. The rain held off, it was mild and the stiff westerly was never really in our faces. Rob navigated us round Hutton Le Hole & Suprise View without anyone noticing and then we took the right turn out of Gillamoor. From there I dont think we saw a moving car until we got down to Helmsley and just the sheep for company! Cafe'd near the Castle and back via Harome, Nunnington and Hovingham. 79 miles at just under 17 mph and back for 3pm. I had the winter steed out so I knew I'd done it when I got home!

A little bit quiet on the roundup this week so thought I should contribute.
The audax on Sunday for me. Was tempted by the club run to cockayne but chose the 'easier option' Joined Bernard, Steve, Dawn, Ginnie, Pavle. Good company as usual, good to see the new club kit well represented. I certainly would recommend buying some. Nice ride round the hills of north yorkshire, busy cafe stop at Ampleforth but good food.

That makes 17 points for me in the challenge series should have been more but sadly had to miss some rides this year due to various things. Have managed most of the higher scoring ones though

Glad you enjoyed the ride Pavle. I would Throughly recommend the Sunday club run with Rob if you can make it.

Rode Kevin's ride on Saturday in the drizzle, when it split I opted for the shorter route to the cafe at Coxwold as I was doing the Audax on Sunday.

Bit of a mechanical for Victoria just before the cafe when she lost a jockey wheel but after a bit of work to shorten the chain she got back to York ok but in one gear.

Had a good ride on Sunday's Audax which quite a few club members did looking good in the new clifton gear.

Went out with just a handful of Wednesday Wheelers yesterday in what was a very wet day (I must be mad) glad to get home to a warm bath afterwards.
