I know last week on the Sunday Club run Bernard was wondering when this ride was. Not sure whether you found out but I found my entry form I received. Its on the 25th :) I am planning on doing the 120km ride.

I'm planning to do the 120k ride as well. It would be good to get a decent club showing (not that I have a clifton jersey!)

I'm planning on doing it as part of my "slow down, the race season's over" therapy. What time should we meet for a join ride-out from York? I haven't ridden this for years so don't know how long registration etc takes.

Hi, I am following a little bit the happenings in the UK there and I want to know what does it means "with a plenty of hills"? On a 120km Tour, how many meters of climbing there are about? 1200? Just want to compare to the trips here in Finland. Thanks

I'm not sure it will be that slow Phil. The reliability and challenge rides I've done this year have been harder than the races. Come out on a K ride for some proper end of season therapy.

Hi Flying Finn

Below is my Garmin stats from last years event which shows a total climb of 1162 Metres.

Phil, it is usually a bit quick which should be ok for you but if you want a steadier ride you don't have to stick with the fast guys of course, this year the organiser has e mailed all us who have pre entered to say that due to the size of the group last year the police have requested that it's split into two groups I was given a choice and I opted for the fast group but how long I stay with them is another matter this year.

Thanks for the warning Darren - was planning on doing the K ride the day before! If there are two groups at the Arthur Metcalfe I'll settle into the more relaxed-looking of the two - have pre-entered but haven't had the quick, slow, quick, quick, slow email yet...

I now have a mate and his wife coming along so will probably opt for the slower group too. Not sure if I'll be at the square for 8.30 or will make my way with them. If the former we'll be in the square. What's the likely pace out to Easingwold? I wouldn't want to put them off...

Hi Ian, thank you for your Data´s, very interesting. It is not sooo much more than here in South-Finland. Good to know, but I think that you have higher "hills" than we have. The highest point here is usually a brigde ;)hehe

I was planning on doing this ride but have not had a good week. Have felt awful all week and now have 'manflu' . I felt run down after last weeks club run and getting soaked didn't help but am going to take this weekend off and try to get fit for the hillclimb the week after :)
