Hey guys,
i got my first bike since i was like 12 years old today. it is a full suspension mtb and i`m wondering if this is the right kind of club for my skill level.
im basically wanting to go out and get fit whilst meeting new people, btw, im at a very low skill level.

what is you guys` opinion?

i`ll edit thst, i wouldnt say very low... done 6.26. miles in 38 mins riding into the wind all the way at about 1400 today, that aint too bad right?

The slowest of group rides is usually around 14 to 15 mph around 50+ miles, it is easier in a group, you'd be a lot better off getting a road bike, that alone would provide a speed increase.

*edit* Are you 12 years old? You would need to have an adult with you on a ride to supervise, such as a parent or gaurdian.

All group rides.are a great opportunity to get to know new people.

It's his first bike since he "was like 12 years old", Will - so I'm guessing he's knocking on a little more now!

Rob, as Will suggests, the full-suss MTB isn't an ideal tool for road rides, but if you're wanting to do off-road stuff and improve your skills in that dept, then hopefully one of our (many!) MTBers will be along soon with some advice on what rides they're up to and what would suit - take a look at the MTB section of this forum to get a flavour of what goes on.
