Stolen Bike

Post by m-k-lewis@msn.com »

Ben has had his bike stolen! He was so excited about his ride out with the Clifton last weekend, that I have barely been able to keep him off it!!

He rode into town today and locked it up by the river only to return and find it gone. He is gutted. If I catch the bas***ds I will cut their b***s off!!

If anyone sees an advert for a Silver / black Giant SCR 4, size small I would be VERY grateful if they could let me know!!

Thanks

What sort of lock was he using just out of interest?

Cheers.

Drives you nuts doesn't it.

I have had one nicked in similar circumstances and they damn near cut through 2 locks on my son's bike a few months ago but were interrrupted and ran off.

The only answer in town is to have 2 reasonably thick locks so that they choose to attack easier prey than yours

Regretfully traumatic orchidectomy isn't a sanctioned penalty - there may be less bike theft if it was (although a high risk of being caught is actually the best deterrent). The rozzers don't seen that interested in my experience....

Can I remind all who ride into to town that the Hub can be used to leave your bikes for a modest fee & your bike is secure.
It is below Lendal bridge & can be accessed from the riverside path or on the cycle path in front of the Maltings pub, as well as from Skeldergate.
