As both of these fall on the same weekend in the challenge series, anyone thinking of riding both? Not that I'm capable of doing both but I myself probably may opt for the Spurn head ride having ridden the Ron Kit a few times already.

I'm doing both, Jon (I've got to do Spurn Head really, as um...I suppose it's my ride - hope I can remember the route).

Ron Kit (only two points ):- hundred hard miles with that climb from Church Houses up Blakely (a combination of steep and long) and Rosedale Chimney, it's a while since I've done that, be nice to see if I can still ride it without walking.

and then a pancake flat ride to Spurn and back (easiest 3 points in the challenge series). I'm intending to stick champion road racing types on the front all day and have an easy ride firmly at the back as my legs will be completely Rosedale Chimneyed.

Did church houses to blakey last saturday on my mtb in the 5hr trailquest. A real slog into a headwind but maybe not that bad on a good day.....but chimney bank - I will have to have 3 weetabix on that day!!
BTW - do you have to register for the Ron Kit??

It's a tradition - I've done every Ron Kit and Arthur Metcafe since they began (except one year through illness). Given my current ride capacity I'll be plodding round RK only - and then with some difficulty I reckon.

Spurn for me, with the ride in and home nearly 200 mile I reckon and all day in the saddle, got to be done at least once in the summer. Riding both would be just silly.

Like all audax's they would prefer you to pre enter but you can EOL but bring the correct money. I think the entry is downloadable from CTC website.

As for me I might be tempted to give both a try but I think it will be a late decision. I'm definitely doing the Spurn head ride though. BTW Steve keep the pace sensible please if your leading it thanks

The CTC website says:

08.30-09.00 long route
09.00-0930 short route

Googling 'Ron Kitching Challenge' gives you the answer

Long route: 08:30-09:00
Short route: 09:00-09:30

Registration opens from 07:30

I could roll out of bed into this one, except sadly I'll be elsewhere.

Ron Kitchen 100k for me this year, quite expensive due to it being a sportive now though but a tenner less if you are a member of the CTC.

Fancied trying some new roads so it's the Newcastle Cyclone for me this w/e - hence won't be out for either
