Hello All
This months club trip is going to be a visit to Hamsterley Forest, which is close to Bishop Auckland in County Durham.
Hamsterley has a mix of trails to suit all abilities including some excellent new sections of the red route with huge berms and fantastic tabletops.
Meet in the car park next to the visitor centre at 10.30 for a 10.45 start.
View on Google Maps
Please post if you're coming along!
Cheers.

Hi, newbie on here but just to let you know..
Sunday 8th May between 7.30am and 5.30pm the majority of forest tracks will be closed due to the Tour of Hamsterley car rally taking place.

Phew, thanks for letting us know Pete! Just spoken to the Forest ranger and the black will open but anything west of the Grove car park (nice new red section) will be shut and there will be lots of disruption, not to mention the chance of getting squashed by a speeding rally car!!!
Hmmmm... Time for a plan B I think!!
How about Guisborough Woods or maybe Chop Gate?? Any preferences or alternative suggestions??
Cheers.

Ok, given that a cafe is high on my list of requirements how about starting from Lord Stones Cafe, which is at the top of Carlton Bank
View on Google Maps. Again meet at 10:30 for a 10:45 start and it will take just under an hour to get there from York (best route is the A19 and then the A172).
Plan is for a 25mile(ish) ride around the North York moors and then deep fried food and a pint at the end!
Please post is you're coming!

Will there be a slower paced ride like at Hole of Horcum and Sutton Bank rides? I love the idea of deep fried food and a pint - but 25 miles is a little daunting

Hi Ros
Sorry, it's all a bit last minute this time what with the change of venue etc! There's certainly an option to make this a shorter ride and I can provide a .gpx file with a route if someone has the technology and wants to volunteer to lead a shorter/slower ride. That said, I'm happy to take it at an easy pace on Sunday and make sure everyone gets round ok!
Hope that helps!
