Sale of UK Forests - We need to ensure our voice is heard !

I attended a meeting in York on Saturday in relation to the current government consultation (see http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/PFE_Cons ... on_WEB.pdf)
re plans to sell off forest managed by the Forestty Commission - see (http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/8850470 ... rk/?ref=mr)
The York MP Hugh Bayley is trying to organise support for an event at one of the forests - probably Dalby or Cropton to coincide with events for the International Year of the Forest - I will update once I have details. There is a real risk that if the government succeeds in pushing through the sale of the forests to private companies that access will be severly restricted. I would urge you all to get involved to ensure that the voice of the cyclist is heard in opposition to this ridiculous plan - either by responding to the consultation or supporting this event, or writing to your MP.
