:D I though that all members would like to congratulate Andy on this very deserved honour.
A lot of members would remember Andy for his tenacity over the years in riding against the clock in the Spoco events etc. As well as being the event organisor on several evenings, inspite of the battle with his health problems.
He also in 2009 rode several Audax events plus the Ryedale Rumble, when despite puncturing & then falling off after the ford at Kirkdale he finished the event, which meant he won a silver medal in the 2009 Challenge series.
I will never forget the shouts of encouragement during the Rumble when after getting off on some hills he continued to urge me on & up Blakey Bank and other hills.
Currently he is no longer able to ride his bike due to body control issues associated with the tumour that he continues to fight the effects of, but unfortunately during the recent snow he fell on the ice & damaged his better side & is now having physio to help him with this latest set back.
I am sure that all members will wish to join me in sending Andy our congratulations & best wishes in the new year.

I would like to add my congratulations to Andy for this accolade.
I was priveliged to be part of the group that included Andy on the Ryedale rumble in 2009 having only previously met him at the spoco events and agree with Bernard that he showed immense grit and determination to complete the ride that day.
I feel proud that a truly nice and inspirational man has been recognised in this way!
