No posts for 5 days now - has the weather drained all will to cycle and post?

Since ride on 18th have only managed a 30 mins outing around Acaster Airfield yesterday, and a ride back from Formentor lighthouse to Pollenca on the simulator!

62 miles in the fog today; prior to that, last ride was, oooo... ...15th December. Inbetween the two:- eight sessions on the turbo topping out at a bunch of pretty desperate 2hrs 30mins stints combining intervals with an hour or so's tempo. Wasn't really going to own up to that lot in case the ghost of Cycling Christmas Past turns up and starts telling me turbos are only for the New Year....

I also went out today, did 47 miles out around Church Fenton, nothing special. I saw a Cliftonite riding in the opposite direction to me heading out of Naburn towards Fulford, was that you Phil? And then later on I saw Kevin out near Askham Richard.

Did 18 miles on Christmas Day to make room for the Turkey, and 50 miles on the 23rd. Will hopefully be out again tomorrow!

Looking forward to spring when the weather will be a bit brighter to enjoy some club runs.

Kevin & I did a 64 mile ride today around Aldwark, Helperby & then across to Boroughbridge & then onto Knaresbrough via Bishop Monkton - a steady pace & much more sociable then the 40 minute sessions looking at the garage door doing 5 minute reps on Boxing day & yesterday.
Inspite of the misty conditions and a spot of drizzle on the way home from the cafe.

Was round Church Fenton, Cawood, Wistow etc today, saw a few riders out someone shouted my name but I didn't recognise him.

I've been doing quite a bit over the hols, but today was the first time I've seen anyone out.

Good to see that people are returning to the roads. Back at work for me so am limited to the turbo. Did Col de Marie Blanque last night - easy at the bottom but sure ramps up near the top!

I might have seen you? Had a red jersey on, on a white bike.

Did you go along any of this route - Probably on the road to church fenton around 2:40.

Been getting out for a few foggy rides since Boxing day; strictly Derwent flats around Selby, Howden, Bubwith. Still seems to be plenty of slush on the farm roads even now, but 2-3degrees feels balmy... new xmas merino glove liners are helping too.

I've managed a whole 87 miles, and no turbo, since the beginning of November. Not a happy chap.

Cyan Skymoos, was you out around Barwick in Elmet today or anywhere on this route -

Am sure on a small drag I overtook someone and then later on I thought maybe it was you?

Oh and today I found the road surfaces to be good, no signs of slush and only little bits of ice near curbs and that's about it.

Yes Will t'was probably me on both occasions. Looks like my winter miles are a little slower than yours, so I didn't bother trying to ride with you.

Ah right, how far did you go?

I guess you go round there often? I only go up there to get in some "Hills" without needing to do 100+ miles to the dales every time but I don't know round there much. Do you know any routes round there around 60 miles that have a decent amount of hills in from say Church Fenton?

I've no idea how far I go Will, I don't have a fancy Garmin or anything. I measure my rides in hours.

At the moment Barwick is about as hilly as it gets for me. When it gets warmer I might head for the Chevin/Norwood/Dacre etc.
There are some good little steep hills around Bardsey, East Rigton and Weardley I sometimes use, and I can get to them in less than an hour.
