Spoco Series 2011

Okay - I'll kick this one off. I won't be running the series next year but I will put together the dates and topics for discussion at the OGM in October or November. Below is my initial proposal for next years series:

• 10 events on consecutive Thursday evenings starting on Thursday 2nd June.
  
  Courses: 4 x flat 10 miles on the Sutton course
  2 x 10.5 miles on the Ganthorpe course
  2 x 13 miles on the Whenby course
  2 x 14 miles on the Coneysthorpe course
  
  Qualification: Senior category riders (aged 18+) ride 5 help at 1.
  Junior riders (16/17) ride 5.
  Juvenile riders (12-15) ride 4.
  
  Categories: Overall, Women, Junior, Juvenile, 2nd Claim, Veteran overall, V40, V50, V60, V70, Women Veteran, Espoir, Newcomer. Prize list can be expanded if enough riders qualify to make it worthwhile.

Why drop 2 events? because we struggle to get enough people to help run them week in week out. Why the '10's? because they are the most 'labour intensive' needing 8 people. In contrast, the Ganthorpe course only needs 5 or 6.

A debate on the future of the series would be a good thing - all the options and proposals can then be discussed and voted on at the OGM, so please go along and have your vote counted! If you have any thoughts on the series and don't want to post them here then email me on thursdaytt@cliftoncc.org
