Crosstrax Crit Series Tockwith

Rode the first of the 3 Crosstrax series at Tockwith tonight. Smaller field than the Chevin series and slightly shorter race being only 20 laps rather than 25.
Not bad race. Strong headwind directly along the finishing straight was really the only difficult part. Couple of riders slipped off the front following the second prime. They managed to stay away as the bunch never really got organised to chase. No one wanted to ride hard into the wind on the finishing straight and this did help the break.
Had a couple of goes off the front but didn't really have the legs to do anything other than hang aimlessly off the front for half a lap. Started to feel my legs towards the end (still recovering from Sunday at least thats my excuse) but hung for 12th place. Still not quite good enough.
Good fun, however and worth riding.
There was a second race for 2nd/3rd/4ths (slightly longer at 25 laps) and quite a lot had a go at both.
Should be riding next Tuesday so hopefully might see some more Clifton jerseys in the field.
