Nice day, good event, bit breezy. Riding with Bernard's (the Humber Pilot) group. I was pleased to get cover out of the quite strong wind at times. I mentioned this to everybody but when I climbed Trundlegate, a nice little ramp, I decided to take off a layer at the top. Proceeded on and getting to the pit stop at the Humber Bridge, South side, I realised that my hearing aid had disappeared. I wouldn't have lost it if it had been an ear trumpet! On the way back, I did suggest that when we finished we could go round to Trundlegate again and they could help me find it but I was glad when nobody said 'let's do that.' I clocked 125 miles on the cateye back home. Next day I decided as penance to ride out back to Trundlegate again and see if I could find it. The wind was stronger, the branches were blowing off the trees but I climbed with a tail wind, found the place, and there it was waiting for me in the gravel at the side of the road. The arms went up, it was as good as winning a Tour stage. Thanks for your company and the odd tow back up to the group on the day.

I told the troops at home about you finding your hearing aid - they were delighted.

And doubly impressed that you rode out again after what i think was star ride of the day sticking with the big group all the way round.

It was also quite breezy Sunday! If i had left anything behind at Otley 25 it would still be there today
