- Please be considerate to local residents and other road users - especially when warming up and parking. Please be especially considerate and courteous to residents in and around Sheriff Hutton village.
This event takes place on the public highway - riders must obey the Highway Code at all times.
Race marshal's are only there to indicate direction - they cannot warn, direct or stop traffic for you. It is up to you to make sure it is safe to proceed - if you have to slow down and stop then please stop, don't take risks.
This course consists mainly of unclassified country roads, there may be poor surface conditions, standing water, nice big muddy potholes and agricultural debris.
There are stables in the area - if you are approaching horses: let them know you are coming with a call, slow down and take care - racehorses can be nervy and they are bigger than you.
The road through Whenby is single-track - be aware of horses and farm vehicles.
The junction at Brandsby involves turning left onto the B1363 - be aware of traffic approaching the junction at speed.
The head-down riding position is banned.
Clifton CC strongly encourages all riders to wear a helmet - riders under 18 must wear a helmet.
