Saturday 5th June sees me and fellow Cliftonite Simon Richardson forming half of a team participating in Oxfam’s 2010 Trailtrekker Charity Challenge.

We shall be walking (eurgh!) through the night to complete a challenging 100km Yorkshire Dales route in under 30 hours.

So, how did you get on Howard?

I'm pleased to report that my team of 4 successfully completed this challenge, coming back in after 28 and a half hours.

Despite my initial apprehension I actually really enjoyed this event; the level of support from the mainly volunteer event crew was truly impressive.

To date my team has raised almost £2000 for Oxfam. So a big thankyou to all the Cliftonites who were kind enough to offer words of encouragement and/or to sponsor us.

I seem to have some difficulty in walking at the moment but I'm sure I'll be back on my bike come Saturday!
