Anyone riding this event this year? Haven't heard much about it this year but since it's on a Saturday it's one of the few I can ride.

All being well I will be doing it Ben, see you at the start line.

Is this years route available yet?

Pateley Bridge, June 5th? I should be doing it. Which distance are you going to do?

EDIT: Oops no, I'll be riding up Mt Ventoux on June 5th so I'll have to miss out on the Dales hardcore climbing action.

I've posted off an entry. Route can be found through audax UK calendar, I think, but it's text directions not a map - I'd rather not see the contours thank you.

Am hoping to ride this as I've never done it before. Anyone planning on doing the longer route?

Also, anyone have a .tcx or .gpx file of the route? I've created one based on the route instructions but it appears that the distance at the intermediate stops is a few k short (although the final distance is correct!) Has anyone else found this or have I 'mis-plotted' somewhere along the way?

Dave

I quite fancied riding this and was tempted by the longer route.

Does anyone know whether you can enter on the line or need to pre-enter? I notice on the website that they were asking for entries 2 weeks prior which I have clearly missed. Anyone experience of getting in on a late entry?

If I can get an entry I'd be happy to try the longer route with you Dave (subject to approval from the Mrs of course).

Best regards

John

I think you can enter on the day. I think I did this last year and they didnt seem to mind too much.

I should be up for this too and might have a bash at the 200k.

I’ve opted for the cheekier 145k version. Anyone else up for a laugh is welcome to tag along, … a critical extra benefit for us short-version ‘slackers’ is that we get an extra half hour sleep in! :)

A couple of Grimpeur veterans have mentioned to me the fact that the cattle grids on this course were apparently designed to keep dinosaurs inside Jurassic Park rather than sheep in the Dales so probably should be approached with throttle eased off. ;)

Is it possible to EOL for this?

I've only just noticed about it, and I might be here on Saturday and might give it a go.
